TV Fact #146 – March 9th, 2015:

The score for the 2008 miniseries “John Adams” was composed by Rob Lane and Joseph Vitarelli. Interestingly, the two composers worked independently of each other, with Lane writing and recording his segments in London and Vitarelli in Los Angeles. The main theme heard played during opening credits is also played before home games for the Washington Nationals during the presentation of the national colors. Also, a shortened version was also used as introductory music for coverage of the 2010 congressional elections and 2012 Presidential elections on CNN.
