Never let anything go to waste in the TV industry when you have to provide weekly episodes. Take the show “Hey, Landlord” (1966-1967) which was an unsuccessful sitcom that lasted only one season. It was co-created by Jerry Belson and Garry Marshall. Marshall also co-created the show “Laverne & Shirley” (1976-1983) with co-creators Lowell Ganz and Mark Rothman. Virtually all the scripts of “Hey, Landlord” were eventually rewritten as scripts for “Laverne & Shirley”. We are always told to recycle although I doubt this is what they meant.
