Movie Fact #803 – March 27th, 2015:

Director David Robert Mitchell had a low budget of $2 million to make 2014’s “It Follows”. It’s barely made $2.1 million back at the box office but it has gained critical acclaim for pulling off everything from the plot to the acting to the old-fashion scares to the score.

On such a small budget, it accomplished an epic feeling. To give the film an expensive look, Mitchell used wide-angle lenses when filming to give the film an expansive look. The old-fashioned scares probably have something to do with the fact Mitchell cited the works of legendary horror directors George Romero and John Carpenter as influences on the film’s compositions and visual aesthetic.

Hey, I say a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes shows he made the legends of old proud!
