TV Fact #163 – April 5th, 2015:

“Jackanory” (1965-1996), a long-running BBC children’s television series that was designed to stimulate an interest in reading, let the celebrities who appeared on the show choose what stories they would read. Then after the show got copyright the writer would write up a script. Cooperation between cast and crew is the best thing you can do to create a cerebral story that projects well on-screen.
