TV Fact #168 – April 10th, 2015:

Voice actor Tim Daly is most noted providing the voice of Superman on various occasions in animated features and shows since the 1990’s. Most forget though that he was a live-action actor first, starring as the lead character Joseph Montgomery Hackett in the popular show “Wings” (1990-1997). Interestingly enough, fellow voice actor Kevin Conroy, who would soon go on to do the voice of Batman in the 1990’s animated series and continues doing related projects today, was considered for the part of Joe as well. Conroy and Daly have gone on to voice Batman and Superman, respectively, working together various times as the character in crossover/companion series.

Movie Fact #817 – April 10th, 2015:

The 1929 film “Wings” became the yardstick against which future aviation films were measured, mainly because of its realistic air-combat sequences and, because of this, it went on to win the first Academy Award for Best Picture at the first annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award ceremony in 1929. This makes it the only silent film to do so.
