Movie Fact #738 – May 1st, 2015:

During filming of the 1955 film “Richard III”, a British Technicolor film adaptation of author William Shakespeare’s historical play of the same name, director Laurence Olivier, who also played the lead character of Richard the Duke of Gloucester (later King Richard III), had his portrait painted by Salvador Dalí. The painting remained one of Olivier’s favourites until he had to sell it to pay for his children’s school fees showing Olivier was willing to sell his name to give his children a good education,
