Movie Fact #739 – May 2nd, 2015:

After mentioning 1955’s “Richard III” last night it might interest you to note that lead actor Laurence Olivier, who played the titular character, had played the character in a stage production for which he had modelled some of the crookback king’s look on a well-known theatrical producer at the time, Jed Harris, whom Olivier called “the most loathsome man I’d ever met”.

The even more interesting part is, years later, Olivier discovered that Walt Disney had also used Harris as his basis for the character Big Bad Wolf in the 1933 short film version of the fairy tale “The Three Little Pigs”.

Well that seems fitting as the darn Wolf was so miserably determined to hurt three pigs for no apparent reason and was willing to blow houses down to do it…seems like the definition of loathsome to me.
