With 23 minutes and 39 seconds of screen time in the 1958 film “Separate Tables”, based on two one-act plays by Terence Rattigan that were collectively known by this name, actor David Niven’s performance as the character Major David Angus Pollock in this movie is the shortest to ever win an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
