TV Fact #212 – May 24th, 2015:

The show “Hotel” (1983-1988), based on author Arthur Hailey’s 1965 novel of the same name (which had also inspired a 1967 feature film), saw actress Shari Belafonte cast as the character Julie Gillette. She was cast by show creator Aaron Spelling after the role of Julie Rogers on “Charlie’s Angels” (1976-1981), which was written for her, went to actress Tanya Roberts. Spelling was a producer on “Charlie’s Angels”. Just goes to show not all rejection is bad. Sometimes it leads to better things!
