TV Fact #230 – June 11th, 2015:

“The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” (1952-1966) was the longest running comedy series in American television history until it was surpassed by “The Simpsons” (1989-Present) in 2004. Not meaning to offend “The Simpsons” but given that “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” was live-action, had actors who couldn’t just read their lines, and required sets and maddening physical production, I find that number means nothing.

The animation process is difficult of course, with the season of an animated show taking much longer to do, but you can’t deny old fashion physical production where ever lights, sets, actors, and stories can’t rely on people getting crushed by an anvil or something outside the bounds of the human and real-world conditions. Just a thought.
