Movie Fact #792 – June 24th, 2015:

In 2003’s “Love Actually”, the lake where the characters Jamie (Played by Colin Firth) and Aurélia (Played by Lúcia Moniz) are “swimming” was actually only eighteen inches deep. Firth and Moniz actually had to kneel down and pretend to be in deeper water. However, the lake was also over-run by mosquitoes and, as consequence, Firth was badly bitten and his elbow swelled up to the size of an avocado, requiring medical attention. So the lake “Love Actually” was ACTUALLY not so great a lake. Sorry…had to do it.
