TV Fact #243 – June 24th, 2015:

Everything is connected. This is no more true than for the 2005 television film “The Girl in the Café”. First you have lead actor Bill Nighy, who portrays the character of Lawrence, and actress Kelly Macdonald, who portrayed the character of Gina, reuniting after starring together in the 2003 BBC serial “State of Play”. Both “State of Play” and “The Girl in the Café” were directed by David Yates and produced by Bevan-Jones.

Also, the casting director for “The Girl in the Café” was Fiona Weir who, at the time, was also the casting director for the “Harry Potter” film series…the last four of the series being directed by Yates. And the casting continuity once again comes into play as both Nighy and Macdonald had cameo roles in the “Harry Potter” films. Nighy played the character Rufus Scrimgeour in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1″ and Macdonald played the character Helena Ravenclaw in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2″. So…one big happy filmmaking family?
