Movie Fact #848 – August 18th, 2015:

The 1980, eleven minute short film “The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film”  filmed over two Sundays in 1959, at a cost of around £70 (including £5 for the rental of a field). It was also a favorite of the band The Beatles which why they hired its director, Richard Lester, to direct the two full length films “A Hard Day’s Night” that came out in 19664 and then “Help!” that came out in 1965. In the film “Help!” actor Bruce Lacey, who was featured in “The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film”, makes a guest appearance as George Harrison’s gardener in the opening sequence.
