Movie Fact #846 – September 5th, 2015:

The 1961 Technicolor romantic drama film “Splendor in the Grass” was the screen debut of legendary actor Warren Beatty who played the lead character Bud Stamper. He had appeared on television (most notably in a recurring role on “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”). Beatty had met the film’s screenwriter, William Inge, the prior year while appearing in Inge’s play, “A Loss of Roses”, on Broadway.
