TV Fact #319 – September 7th, 2015:

According to one of the show’s creators, the American children’s television series “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” (1992-1996) was originally going to be about a boy named Pete and his dog named Pete. But they changed the dog to a younger brother when they realized a dog “wasn’t exciting enough”. Some consider this show, even though it only lasted for 3 seasons and 39 episodes, as one of the greatest children’s shows ever made as well as one of the most well-written kids shows ever made. So…safe to say it was a wise creative move.
