Movie Fact #852 – September 11th, 2015:

The 2006 drama film “United 93”, a film that chronicles events aboard United Airlines Flight 93 which was hijacked during the September 11 attacks of 2001, was made with the cooperation of all of the passengers’ families and ten percent of the gross from the three-day opening weekend was promised toward a donation to create a memorial for the Flight 93 victims. To note, this is the first Hollywood feature to draw its narrative directly from the September 11 attacks of 2001…and it wouldn’t be the last.

September 11th has defined America in many ways since that day, both in some good ways and bad ways. But always, in film, it is about remembering those we lost and trying to move forward. Cause moving forward is the only way we can truly honor them. The people aboard those planes lost their lives, so it became our job to live for them and the families, I have no doubt, find that a challenge. All that we can do to comfort those that the victims we left behind is just that…they will never be forgotten.
