TV Fact #329 – September 17th, 2015:

The Western series “Bronco” (1958-1962), which was played on ABC, featured actor Ty Hardin as the lead character Bronco Layne, a former Confederate officer who wandered the Old West. However, Hardin’s last name wasn’t Hardin and was changed for this show.

See, Hardin’s name was Ty Hungerford, but producers had him change his last name from Hungerford to Hardin in reference to the famous gunslinger John Wesley Hardin.

The things we give to be successful…even our own names.
