Movie Fact #862 – September 21st, 2015:

The 1928 silent film comedy “That Certain Thing” was the first in a long string of films director Frank Capra made for Columbia Pictures but this film also marked the first of many clashes Capra had with Columbia studio boss Harry Cohn. For this film, Capra was not given the amount of extras he felt he needed for a restaurant scene and stormed into Cohn’s office…Capra got the number of extras he wanted. So Capra was definitely a guy who wouldn’t take “No” for answer. It worked out for him quite well as his successful, timeless films would show over the years.
