Movie Fact #861 – October 20th, 2015:

The 2015 British historical period drama film “Suffragette” is the first film in history to be shot in the Houses of Parliament, done with the permission of Members of Parliament. Much like the focus of the film, it was a moment of revolution for feminism to be able to film there just as how in the late 19th century and the early 20th century, women had stood up to Parliament to begin with for equality and the right to vote. In a way, this was the completion of that journey as the Suffragettes now stood in Parliament.
