TV Fact #364 – October 22nd, 2015:

The  American television legal drama “Matlock” (1986-1995) finally ended in 1995, when actor Andy Griffith, who in the lead role of criminal-defense attorney Ben Matlock, was the only actor to appear in all 195 episodes of the series, decided that at the age of 69, he wanted to take a break from acting to spend more time with his family. Family should always be first, not even success should stop your real life from being the most important. Shows and characters exist forever…sadly our time with family is not forever implanted on reruns. We only get one run through the seasons of our lives.
