Movie Fact #868 – October 27th, 2015:

The 1997 American drama film “Affliction”, adapted from the novel by author Russell Banks, was a gamble for actor James Coburn who came out of retirement to act in the film as the character Glen Whitehouse. His gamble would be reward as he would later win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance. Guess it’s like what they always say that it is better to say you took a chance in life than to say you never did at all.
