Movie Fact #886 – November 14th, 2015:

According to director Barry Levinson, the 1999 comedy-drama “Liberty Heights” came out of a derogatory comment about actor Dustin Hoffman’s character Dr. Norman Goodman in the science fiction psychological thriller film “Sphere”, which Levinson had also directed.

The critic’s comment got Levinson thinking about his experiences growing up in Baltimore, from that, the film was born.
