TV Fact #402 – November 29th, 2015:

The British television comedy sketch show “Not the Nine O’Clock News” (1979-1982) has rarely been repeated since it’s original airing. Only eight re-cut and condensed “episodes”, to make it “faster and funnier than ever”, were made for a video edition in 1995. The reason for no repeats was primarily because the original episodes in their entirety lampooned events that were in the news at the time. So…probably wouldn’t be as funny now to see jokes about news stories made around 25 years ago.
